Caroline Kennedy's Fiery Denouncement of RFK Jr.'s HHS Nomination

The "Predator" Allegations

Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of former President John F. Kennedy, has sent shockwaves through Washington with a scathing letter denouncing her cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as a "predator" and the last person qualified to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

In a video posted by her son on social media, Kennedy detailed her cousin's alleged past behavior as a young man, when he "encouraged" family members to experiment with drugs, became known for his "basement parties" where baby animals were harmed, and was always "the center of the action." She further accused him of continuing to lie and exploit others throughout his life.

The Vaccination Controversy

Kennedy also condemned RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccination stance, calling it a "hypocritical" attempt to profit from conspiracy theories.

"He preys on the desperation of parents of sick children, vaccinating his own kids while building a following by discouraging others from vaccinating theirs," she said.

Family Betrayal

Caroline Kennedy's letter follows a long line of public opposition to RFK Jr.'s political aspirations from within his own family. His father's namesake was assassinated during his presidential bid, and his uncle was the 35th president, shot to death while in office. Despite the Kennedy family's legacy, his nomination has been met with vocal disapproval from other siblings.

Presidential Promises

President Donald Trump, during his campaign, pledged to give RFK Jr. free rein on matters of public health. In November's election, he made good on that promise by nominating his cousin to his cabinet.

Resistance and Confirmation

While Kennedy's letter casts a dark shadow over RFK Jr.'s nomination, it remains unclear whether it will galvanize opposition. Last week, veteran and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth faced similar allegations of misconduct but was ultimately confirmed to head the Department of Defense, despite an affidavit from his sister-in-law containing new accusations.

RFK Jr. is set to appear at his Senate confirmation hearing starting Wednesday, where he will face questions about his qualifications and the allegations against him.
